As we dig into the 2014 Quarterback Rankings for the upcoming season, we're always reminded of the fact that the NFL has not just become more of a passing game, but they've officially hit the turbo button. We're seeing passing efforts like we've never seen before, and it doesn't look like there's a slowdown in. 2014 Ncaa Football Rankings
Here are fantasy quarterbacks 16-40:16. Ryan Tannehill, Miami Dolphins
Poor offensive line play led to Tannehill being sacked a league-high 58 times last year. With improvements along their offensive line and the team's new up-tempo offense, Tannehill should take additional strides in his development in 2014. An excellent athlete for quarterback that once led A&M in receiving, Tannehill will have more opportunities to run as the Dolphins use more read-option plays.
In addition, no quarterback has a better fantasy football strength of schedule than Tannehill.
17. Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers

That change could lead to increased production from Roethlisberger, who threw for 4,261 yards and 28 touchdowns last year. Both of those totals were the second-highest of his career.
18. Carson Palmer, Arizona Cardinals
In his first season in Bruce Arians' offense, Palmer threw for a career-high 4,274 yards to go along with a career-worst 22 interceptions. With a talented duo of receivers, Larry Fitzgerald and Michael Floyd, and a talented receiver out of the backfield, Andre Ellington, Palmer should come close to last year's numbers again. In addition, speedy third-round rookie John Brown has been turning heads and should secure No. 3 duties in the receiving corps.
19. Andy Dalton, Cincinnati Bengals
Nobody could (or should) have expected a top-five season from Dalton, but that's what he delivered for fantasy owners in 2013 as only Peyton, Brees, Cam and Luck scored more fantasy points than the Red Rifle. That said, there is about as much of a chance (so, you're telling me there's a chance?) that Sofia Vergara falls madly in love with me as there is that Dalton repeats his top-five numbers in 2014.
With a career-high 586 pass attempts last season, Dalton threw for 4,293 yards and 33 touchdowns, both of which were also career highs, but it also led to 20 interceptions as well. With a new offensive coordinator Hue Jackson calling the plays, it's more likely that the Bengals lean heavily on their rushing attack and Dalton's pass attempts drop, perhaps by a quite a bit.
20. Alex Smith, Kansas City Chiefs
Albeit a boring option, Smith was a productive fantasy quarterback in 2013 as he finished in the top 10 in fantasy points among quarterbacks despite averaging a mere 6.5 yards per pass attempt. Fortunately for Smith, he has an extremely talented receiver out of the backfield in Jamaal Charles, but Charles is unlikely to score seven receiving touchdowns again in 2014.
That said, Smith won't turn the ball over and he's an underrated runner (431 rushing yards last year). Obviously, I don't expect Smith to finish as a top-10 quarterback this year (otherwise, I'd rank him in the top 10), but he has some upside as a second starter in two-QB leagues.
21. Jake Locker, Tennessee Titans

22. Joe Flacco, Baltimore Ravens
Flacco threw a career-high 614 pass attempts, sixth-most in the NFL last season, and he also posted a career high in yards (3,912) as well. The good news stops there. While Flacco threw the fewest touchdowns (19) since his rookie season, he threw 22 interceptions. (He never threw more than 12 in any season.)
And only Tannehill was sacked more frequently than Flacco last season. In order for Flacco and the Ravens offense to bounce back, it will need to begin with improved offensive line play.
23. Geno Smith, New York Jets
As one would expect (for any rookie quarterback), Smith struggled with consistency, but he played better down the stretch as the Jets won three of their final four games. Tied with Cam, Geno quietly led the position in rushing touchdowns (six) last season as well. Considering the team upgraded their skill-position players, it wouldn't be a shock of he finished as a top-20 fantasy QB in 2014.
24. Shaun Hill, St. Louis Rams
After tearing his ACL in the first half of last season, Sam Bradford has re-torn his ACL in the team's third preseason game and he'll miss the remainder of the season. There shouldn't be much of a dropoff between Bradford and Hill, however.
The team's former second-round pick, Brian Quick, has seemed to turn the corner in his development and part of that is mentoring from free-agent addition Kenny Britt. Loaded with talent and still only 25 years old, Britt has failed to reach his potential due to injuries and off-the-field issues, but he seems to have his head on straight now.
